Lighting Restoration for 'The Mount'

Lighting Restoration for 'The Mount'In 1997, Conant Metal & Light was retained to restore the original lighting of "The Mount," the Lenox, Massachusetts, estate and gardens of famed American author Edith Wharton, the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for literature.

As part of the project, we disassembled, cleaned, rewired and reassembled 58 lighting fixtures, and our Custom Shop created 17 historically accurate reproductions. These photos show the fixtures as tagged and inventoried before our craftspeople started working their magic.

"I want to thank you and all the staff at Conant Metal & Light. You personally have been wonderful to work with on all my projects. Everything has been done to my satisfaction. And I can tell that you all take pride in your workmanship as evidenced by your communications to me to ask if I liked the light...."
