Lighting Restoration for 'The Mount'
In 1997, Conant Metal & Light was retained to restore the original lighting of "The Mount," the Lenox, Massachusetts, estate and gardens of famed American author Edith Wharton, the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for literature.
As part of the project, we disassembled, cleaned, rewired and reassembled 58 lighting fixtures, and our Custom Shop created 17 historically accurate reproductions. These photos show the fixtures as tagged and inventoried before our craftspeople started working their magic.
