Steve's Helicopter

"I have a tendency to aspire to do more than I have time for," says Steve.

"I also a have a tendency to think up far more crazy ideas in a day than most (sane) individuals do in a year. This is both a blessing and a curse! I have a list a mile long of 'shop projects' I want to get to but only one lifetime to do them. Mags doesn't worry about me running off with another woman because my tools are my 'other love.'
Among these projects is my helicopter. You see, I can envision driving this thing back and forth to work (1.5 miles) every day and either:

"1. saving gas by using the drive train from the 800-pound electric floor sweeper (which I picked up for free at a tag sale) or

"2. getting there quickly by installing the 25-horsepower ultralite airplane engine I bought from a friend.

"Decisions, decisions!"

As part of a $2.5 million renovation of Massachusetts' historic Beverly Public Library in 2001, Conant Metal and Light restored six grand, silver-plated chandeliers and four silver-plated desk lamps to pristine condition after a previous restoration effort by another company had led to further deterioration. Our restoration experts developed a cost-effective solution that salvaged the fixtures and enabled the library’s restoration to proceed on track.
